Dr. Dennis Steigerwald focused his practice and study on TMD for over 20 years and is on the editorial staff of the Journal of Craniomandibular Practice (CRANIO). He was director of Solana Beach Chiropractic Offices from 1977-1989 when a car accident forced his retirement from hands on practice. His practice from 1989-1997 consisted of consultation, second opinion and case management for trauma induced TMD cases helping to orchestrate treatment programs for chiropractors, dentists, oral surgeons, medical doctors and physical therapists. He has been part of the treatment program for over 10,000 TMD cases and has orchestrated or delivered the post-op care for over 1,000 TMJ surgeries. Dr. Steigerwald has served as an expert witness in both the P.I. and workers compensation arenas on numerous occasions and has lectured on whiplash induced TMD extensively worldwide.
